Evelyn Community Gardens, Deptford. This was a cracking little event where a bunch of us were left jamming into the night. After running some grafting exercises during the day just a few kids turned up and ploughed away at the press whilst the amazing team of Dalva and Christina got the most tasty pizzas on the go in their home-made oven. With time this event could be a real gatherer but like many other projects, despite the watchful eyes of local residents, it severly lacks in participation. What a shame, but some of the trees I have put in over the years are coming along and with maturity we will have a closed canopy in no time at all. This year also saw the construction of the outdoor compost toilet and a lovely decked pond. The potential is there but it requires a sunny day and this year it bucketed.
