Pullens Festival

Iliff Street, Elephant & Castle, London, 31st August, 2024.

I couldn't believe it when this festival came back round 6 years later. I jumped at it. Where last time we built a cob oven, this time I would do the apple pressing with my great volunteer friend Steve Vincent. He was superb. Straightaway he set up a donation pot, helped me juice a cartload of apples and then went round giving it away. Meanwhile I sold out on all my olive oil. Maybe there weren't so many people because of the cold weather, but the line up of local bands and the permaculture/sustainability theme for most of these grassroots organisations is totally authentic.

I guess that these type of anarchist festivals are getting rare nowadays, more so any sort of funding. Right next to a busy metropolis it is one way that the local residents interact and remember the glue that keeps the people solid. Even though I have migrated to Spain I enjoy even more coming back to my childhood.

So to end this short write-up, volunteers must be members. You are invited to join me in my ventures and obviously there are perks to the thing.
